Study Abroad: Stanford University (SU) has released a list of top scientists, and 46 faculty members of Panjab University (PU) have made it to the top 2% of the list. These scientists are mainly from the sciences and engineering disciplines.

As per the university officials, this is the highest-ever number of PU teachers selected in this list.

While commenting on this, PU’s director of research and development cell Harsh Nayyar said,This is our best showing in the list. When it was first started around 2020, there were only 11 professors in the first edition. Now we have been able to increase the number four fold," as reported by Hindustan Times.

Nayyar highlighted that this improvement in the scientist's ranking is due to the fact that the researchers at the university are now choosing interesting topics which are getting more citations.

"It is remarkable that the number has increased from 32 to 46 this year and it will reflect in the next yearly rankings of PU," said Vice-chancellor Renu Vig.
