British Council Honours Alumni At Study UK Alumni Awards 2025 In India

The Study UK Alumni Awards 2025 was held in India and it was attended by the Lindy Cameron CB OBE, British High Commissioner to India, key influencers and business leaders from across industries and UK university representatives.
Study Abroad: The British Council organised the eleventh edition of the prestigious Study UK Alumni Awards 2025 in India. The event was held to award and recognize the achievements and remarkable work of alumni of the UK universities across sectors.
Alison Barrett MBE, Country Director India, British Council, stated, “The eleventh edition of the Study UK Alumni Awards in India has once again showcased the inspiring journeys of UK alumni who are shaping industries, influencing policy, and creating lasting impact. This year’s winners and finalists represent a diverse spectrum of talent—from groundbreaking sustainability advocates to visionary entrepreneurs and influential leaders in social change. Their achievements reflect the power of higher education in nurturing global changemakers and strengthening the UK-India partnership.”
British Council’s Study UK Alumni Awards 2025: More Details
The event was attended by key influencers and business leaders from various industries, UK universities’ representatives, and Lindy Cameron CB OBE, British High Commissioner to India. The guests included Sparsh Ahuja, Filmmaker & Creative Producer, Sam Dalrymple, Writer, Filmmaker, and Historian, and Chiki Sarkar, Founder & Publisher of Juggernaut Books.
The UK universities' alumni of India were awarded under four categories Business and Innovation Award, Social Action Award, Culture and Creativity Award, and Science and Sustainability Award. Prof Aashish Mathur, an alumnus of Ulster University got the award in the Science and Sustainability category, and Gayatri Madkekar for culture and creativity, is an alumnus of Leeds Beckett University. Raju Kendre was awarded in the Social Action Award category, he is from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Mayank Bherulal Nagori was awarded under Business and Innovation Award. He is an alumnus of the University of Nottingham.
“The winners of the UK Alumni Awards in India will gain enhanced visibility, networking opportunities, and professional growth avenues. The finalists also stand a chance to be selected as global winners, who will be invited to the UK for a special networking visit, engaging with key stakeholders and fellow awardees,” says the statement of British Council.
