Duolingo English Test: Applications Open For DETermined Scholarship to Support Indian Women in STEM

Study Abroad: The DETermined Scholarship has been introduced with the partnership of the Principal Scientific Adviser. The scholarship is to support Indian women in STEM in the USA. It offers a one-time grant of USD 30,000 for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.                                            

Study in US: The Duolingo English Test (DET) has opened applications for the DETermined Scholarship on the Manthan portal. The knowledge partner is the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA). It is for the talented Indian women in STEM. It is applicable for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses at US universities in the Spring ’26 semester.

DETermined Scholarship will offer women in STEM a one-time grant of USD 30,000 towards the tuition fees of their undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Interested candidates can apply at the Manthan portal. The application deadline is extended to July 20, 2025. Earlier, the last date to fill out the application was June 30, 2025.

Eligibility Requirements For DETermined Scholarship

The following are the eligibility requirements for the scholarship:

• The applicant should be a woman and an Indian citizen.
• She should be residing in India and demonstrate an outstanding academic record in science from an accredited Indian institution. They must have scored 60% or more.
• The applicant should intend to enroll in a full-time STEM program, which can be an undergraduate or postgraduate program at an affiliated U.S. university. The course must begin in the spring semester of 2026.
• They must have a DET score of 120 or higher.
• The applicant should demonstrate a commitment to solving societal issues, innovation in STEM fields, and leadership skills.
• After completing the course, they must intend to return to India and demonstrate their ability to transform innovative ideas into a viable startups.
• The selected candidates will be announced in September 2025, and the scholarship amount will be paid by Spring 2026.
