GITAM, UNCW, University Of Surrey Launch International Consulting Immersion Programme
UNCW senior delegation participated in discussions with the GITAM faculty members and talked about various key areas including faculty exchange and student exchange.
Study Abroad: GITAM Deemed to be the University School of Business has collaborated with the University of Surrey, UK and the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) USA to launch the International Consulting Immersion Programme (ICIP).
A senior delegation of the UNCW participated in discussions with GITAM faculty members. The delegation included Undergraduate Academic Advisor Jerry Benton, MBA programme director Nivine Richie, MSc in Business Analytics faculty director Manoj Vanajakumari, and Associate Provost Chris Finelli.
The discussion were held around the key areas including student immersion, joint degree programmes, faculty exchange, and student exchange.
"The ICIP is designed to provide students with hands-on consulting experience over a nine-month period, where diverse teams will address real-world industry challenges presented by corporate partners," says GMIT statement.
UNCW Gets $25 Million Gift To Boost Healthcare Programs, Teacher Education
Dr. Yousry Sayed and his wife, Linda ’78,’85M have granted a philanthropic gift of $25 million to the University of North Carolina Wilmington to support teacher recruitment and retention and healthcare initiatives.
UNCW Chancellor Aswani K. Volety said, “The university is profoundly grateful for this historic gift from two deeply dedicated Seahawks. These dear friends believe in the power of higher education to transform lives, improve communities and create positive change in the world. Their gift commitment will position UNCW to expand programs, enhance our facilities and provide even greater opportunities for our students for generations to come.”
$20 million is allocated for the advancement of UNCW’s programs over five years in clinical care, medical education, and healthcare accessibility. It will support various research initiatives and healthcare professional workforce programs.
“Our gift is an investment in future teachers and healthcare professionals who will serve their communities. We want to empower students with the knowledge and skills to help others lead productive and fulfilling lives. Linda and I believe in the mission and vision of this great university, and we are pleased to contribute in a way that will allow UNCW to continue to grow in service to our region and state," added Dr. Sayed.
