Oxford University's English, Anatomy And Geography Shines In QS World Subject Rankings

Study in UK: University of Oxford's three subjects including Geography, Anatomy and Physiology, and English Language and Literature have been placed at top in the QS World Rankings By Subject 2025.
In the QS World Ranking By Subjects 2025, for the ninth consecutive year, the faculty of English has topped the ranking. The University of Oxford has been at the top position with the University of Cambridge in this category. The faculty of English ranking includes 350 universities.
Professor Simon Horobin, Chair of the English Faculty Board, said, "I’m delighted that Oxford’s English Faculty has topped the QS University rankings for the ninth consecutive year. It’s wonderful to see the exceptional research, teaching, learning and support carried out by our faculty, staff and students being recognised in this way."
Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics At Number One For Six Consecutive Year
Professor David Paterson, Head of the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, said, "Congratulations again to all the academics, post-doctoral fellows, researchers, graduate students and professional support staff for defying academic gravity and maintaining our top spot for six years in a row. I am very proud of your performance."
School of Geography and the Environment (SoGE) is at top position for the 15th consecutive year. This category has 1,500 institutions.

This accolade, achieved for the 15th successive year, is an enduring testament to the commitment and talent of all academic, research and professional services staff across the entire School. It is a fitting recognition of the SoGE community of which I am proud to be a part."
University Of Oxford Establishes New Programme For Sustainable Resource Research
The university is setting up a new multidisciplinary research initiative - Oxford EARTH Program for sustainable natural resources.

Sustainable resource use is fundamental to long term prosperity, and this programme brings together expertise from across the sciences, engineering, and social sciences to pioneer innovative solutions. By fostering collaboration between academia, industry, policymakers, and communities, Oxford EARTH will help shape a more prosperous and sustainable future," said Professor Jim Naismith, Head of Mathematical, Physical, Life Sciences Division.
