RMIT University has entered a new partnership with Indonesia by signing an agreement with the Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Innova 8 and Infinite Learning to offer cyber safety and training programs for Indonesia's workforce development.

The university will provide a bespoke cyber security program to support the region in advancing best practices and meeting the demands of the modern digital economy. The program will equip the professionals with the required skills to grow in cyber security field and safeguard networks.

Mish Eastman, RMIT Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Vocational Education and Vice-President commented, “By leveraging RMIT’s expertise, we are creating a tailored solution to enhance workforce productivity and cyber resilience in the Southeast Asia region."

“We are opening the world of cyber security to industry professionals, teaching them essential principles to protect networks and understand its broader impact," added Eastman.

Saskia Loer Hansen, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of International and Engagement, said, "This partnership marks an exciting step in educating local talent to support the cyber resilience of the digital sector. RMIT is partnering across Southeast Asia to respond to workforce needs to deliver industry connected and innovative learning solutions and experiences.”

The new collaboration is built on the decades-long partnership with the region. The partnership highlights the ongoing focus of RMIT in addressing the workforce skills gap and its expanded presence in the Asia-Pacific.

Mish Eastman signed the MoU in Indonesia. Saskia Loer Hansen, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of International and Engagement and RMIT Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Vocational Education and Vice-President were also present during the signing of the agreement.







"This new MoU builds on the existing relationship we’ve built over the years, including delivering short courses in cyber security at Nongsa Digital Park in Indonesia as part of a strategic partnership signed between our two institutions in 2021," added the university.

RMIT Graduate Wins Top Landscape Architecture Award

Emma Croker has been named the national winner of the Landscape Architecture Australia Student Prize. She got it for her project, ‘Feral Futures’: Tools and Tactics to Regenerate Alpine Sky-Islands.

“Too few landscape architecture projects are rooted in data and science. By overlaying real-time data with design strategies, we can achieve the best possible outcomes for both the environment and its users," she said.
