Study In UK: Durham University Announces Inspiring Excellence 5K Scholarship

Study Abroad: There are a total of 200 Inspiring Excellence 5K scholarships available at Durham University. Each will be provided for one year, full-time (in-person) taught LLM, MA, MSc, and MDS programs. It is not available for MSW and MBA courses.

Durham University has announced the Inspiring Excellence 5K scholarship for outstanding international students. There are a total of 200 such scholarships, and each one of them is a highly competitive award. The value of each award is £5,000 towards the original tuition fee for a postgraduate taught programme. It applies to the courses commencing in September 2025. It will be available to all the new foreign students at Durham University who meet the eligibility criteria.

"Please note that scholarships (tuition fee discounts) are not transferable and not deferrable, no cash alternative is offered, and awardees' tuition fees will be automatically adjusted at the time of enrolment at Durham University," reads the university statement.

To apply for the Durham University Inspiring Excellence 5K Scholarship, the applicants need to submit the academic application for one of the eligible programmes with all the required documents. They need to submit the application through the postgraduate online application portal.

The first round of scholarship selection will be announced by May 4, 2025, and the second round of scholarship selection will be out by June 8, 2025. Apart from submitting the academic application, the students should also complete the Inspiring Excellence 5K Scholarship Online application by April 30, 2025, for the first round of selection, and by June 8, 2025, for the second selection.

"If you fail to receive an academic offer before the deadline for the 1st round selection, or you are unsuccessful in the 1st round scholarship selection, you will be automatically considered for the 2nd round selection. You do not need to submit the scholarship application form again," added the university statement.

Eligibility Criteria For Inspiring Excellence 5K Scholarship

The following are the eligibility criteria:

• The applicants should have applied to a one-year, full-time (in-person) taught program, which can be an MA, MSc, MDS, or LLM qualification.
• The program to which the applicant has applied should start in September 2025.
• They must be classified as international students for fee-paying purposes.
• The candidate should either meet or exceed the entry requirements for the above-mentioned programmes.
• They need to be self-funded and not supported by any external sponsor. However, they can get be getting Durham International Scholarship, which offers a £5,000 tuition fee discount towards students from India, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria and Vietnam.
