Study In US: Stanford University To Increase Tuition By 4%

Those students who are getting the need-based aid will see no change in their expenditure. The tuition will be increased from academic year 2025-26.
Study Abroad: The Stanford University Board of Trustees decided to increase the tuition by 4% in the academic year 2025-26.
"The financial aid budget was also increased and students receiving aid will not be impacted," says the statement of The Stanford Daily.
University spokesperson Dee Mostofi sent an email to the Stanford Daily which states, “Nearly half of undergraduates receive need-based aid and should expect to see no change to their costs, provided their family financial circumstances have not changed."
Stanford Increase In Tuition: More Details
Families who earn below $150,000 need not make a parental contribution towards the tuition fees of the student at Stanford and for those whose family income is below $100,000, their tuition, board and room are covered.
The 4% increase in tuition fees will increase the tuition by $868 per quarter. Tuition for general graduate tuition will also increase by 4%. This increase is lower than the increase in tuition in the previous year when it increased by 5.5% and fees for board and room increased by 7%.
"This year, both are expected to increase by 4%, with room and board fees increasing to $22,167 per quarter for undergraduates," added the Stanford Statement.
Stanford Undergraduate Housing Process To Commence In March
The undergraduate housing application for 2025-26 will start one month earlier than the previous year. The applications are opening on March 3 and the last date to apply is April 16, 2025.
"Students seeking “disability-related housing accommodations” have one month less than previous years to submit their housing application with their group members. A Housing Accommodation Request Form must also be submitted to the Office of Accessible Education (OAE)," says the official statement.
Shane Mion ’26 said, “If people who genuinely need OAE have less time to get their preparations in order, it might catch them by surprise and stress them even more, which is contrary to the point of OAE."
Last year the housing process at Stanford met with controversy as many juniors were left unassigned and they were placed in quads and triples.
