Technical University of Munich Offers Post Doctoral Fellowship For PhD Students

Study in Germany: Technical University of Munich has invited applications for the TUM Global Postdoc Fellowship 2025. It offers 10 international young scientists the chance to conduct research at TUM. The last date for application is April 13, 2025.

The application requirements include - early-career postdocs and doctoral researchers who reside outside Germany and are in their final year, a letter of confirmation from a PhD supervisor or Completion of PhD, and Support of a TUM Host.

“The call is open to researchers who have completed their doctorate a maximum of three years ago or who will complete their doctorate within the next 12 months. Researchers must reside outside of Germany at the time of submission. In each call, there are two phases. In Phase I, you do not require to submit a letter of support from a TUM host. However, you must identify a TUM host, who will support your application, during Phase II of the submission process. See below for further information on these two phases. The TUM Global Postdoc Fellowship is open to all topics. Researchers are invited to apply with a project that matches the research of the chair/institute/lab of the respective host who supports the application,” says the TUMS statement.

Documents Needed For Post Doctoral Fellowship For PhD Students

The following documents are needed for the TUM Global Postdoc Fellowship - Letter of Motivation, CV, Copy of your best paper, PhD certificate, Reference Letter from your supervisor, and Names of potential TUM hosts that are of interest to you.

“Please name up to three TUM Hosts who you want to work with. Please note that only active TUM Professors/Head of Institutes/Chairs/Junior Fellows can be hosts. It is not possible to name other scientists, including Honorary Professors, Distinguished Affiliated Professors, and retired professors including the TUM Emeriti of Excellence and TUM President Prof. Dr. Thomas F. Hofmann,” added TUM statement.

TUM Teams At First, Third Place In Digital Future Challenge 2025

Initiative D21 and the Deloitte Foundation organized the fifth Digital Future Challenge with the motto “Shaping the digital future”. Over 70 groups took part in it and five teams made it to the final and three of them involved TUM students.

“The student competition focused on innovative approaches for use cases in the areas of “Europe,” “Climate & Environment,” and “Inclusion.” More than 70 groups took part – and with their AI-supported approach to using district heating networks as energy storage systems, the joint TUM and LMU team “Gridnaition” won the final,” reads the TUM statement.
