University Of Birmingham's Subjects Shine In 2025 QS World University Rankings By Subject

Study in UK: In the recently released QS World University Rankings By Subject, the University of Birmingham's six subjects were positioned in the top 50 and another 20 subjects were in the top 100.

The University of Birmingham's subjects has shined in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by subject where six of its subjects were placed in the top 50 and a further 20 subjects were in the top 100, including disciplines from Chemical Engineering, Sociology, Medicine, and Performing Arts.

"As the University of Birmingham celebrates its 125th anniversary this year, our students continue to benefit from an outstanding research-intensive education that develops the knowledge, skills and attributes sought after by employers and delivers great career prospects for our graduates," Professor Deborah Longworth, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) - University of Birmingham.

For Sports, it was in the top 10 globally, and for English, Dentistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Theology and Linguistics, it is placed in Top 50.

Professor Deborah Longworth added, "With 26 subject areas in the top 100 – six of which are in the top 50, with sports-related subjects in the top 10 – the rankings recognise Birmingham as a place for leading scientists, professionals and students who want to be involved in world-class research and achieve a degree that will enhance professional opportunities around the world.”

University Of Birmingham Hosts FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge

This challenge was for the age group of 9 to 16 years and it promoted engineering careers through team-based activities, competition and fun. The competition had three matches where the teams needed to complete the maximum number of missions in two and a half minutes. Concord College won this match. Robot Design Award won by the RGS Worcester Team A.

"After the tournament, the teams took a tour of the Makerspace and met Spot, the School's robot dog. The day ended with a trophy presentation ceremony for all awards, including the Coach/Mentor trophy given to Mr Pope from RGS Worcester after his team spoke enthusiastically about how inspiring and fun he had made the day,” reads the university statement.
