University of Sheffield Announces Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Masters Scholarships

The University of Sheffield, UK is offering 3 Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust masters scholarships for international students commencing their studies in September 2025.
International development is a major commitment of the University of Sheffield. Its strategy has one of the themes ‘celebrating, promoting and increasing the volume of the work that we do to improve the lives of others through its international relationships, locally and abroad’.
The University of Sheffield collaborated with the Sheffield Institute for International Development and the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust to offer scholarships to international students from developing countries including India. Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Masters Scholarships are available for various courses affiliated with the Sheffield Institute for International Development. It offers a full tuition fee waiver and a maintenance stipend of A £12,500.
Eligibility Criteria For Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Masters Scholarships
The following are the eligibility requirements:
- The applicants should have an offer of study from University of Sheffield in the 2025-26 academic year for one of the following courses - International Public and Political Communication MA, Global Journalism MA, International Political Economy MA, International Law and Global Justice LLM (a selected pathway of the Sheffield LLM course), International Development (Masters in Public Health) MPH, Environmental Change and International Development MSc, and International Development MA.
- The students should be classified as the international students for tuition fee purposes.
- They should already have a qualification equivalent or higher level to the programme they are applying.
- The applicant should earlier not have studied outside the country of their residence.
- They must be self-funded and not receive any other scholarship awards.
- They should be joining a full-time course at the University of Sheffield in 2025
“To access the application form applicants will need to hold an offer for one of the postgraduate courses (listed above) starting at the University in September 2025. It may take up to 24 hours to be able to access the form after applicants have received their offer. Applicants will need to apply using their MUSE for offer holders login,” says the university statement.
