Study In UK: Loughborough University Offers Sanctuary PhD Scholarships

There are two deadlines for Loughborough University Sanctuary PhD Scholarships. For the April 2025 or July 2025 entry, the last date to apply is March 25, 2025, and for the October 2025 or January 2026 entry, the deadline is June 23, 2025.
Loughborough University is offering four Sanctuary PhD Scholarships for part-time and full-time postgraduate research (PhD) programmes. Two scholarships is available for the 2024/2025 academic year and two are for the 2025/2026 academic year.
There are multiple benefits of the Sanctuary PhD Scholarships as it offers 100% of the tuition fees along with the stipend of £19,237 per annum for a period of 3 years. The university is not funding the travel and visa costs and the students are expected to fund these through other sources.
Eligibility Criteria For Loughborough University Sanctuary PhD Scholarships
The following are the eligibility requirements:
- The applicants should have an offer of study for a PhD programme from Loughborough University.
- Must have excellent academic records.
“If you're currently outside the UK and wish to study part-time, the University won't be able to sponsor you in the UK on a student visa. For those based in the UK and wish to be considered for a part-time PhD, note that if you're in full-time employment, you'll not be eligible for a scholarship. Only those working part-time, have caring responsibilities or other requirements may be considered for an award on a part-time basis,” says the Loughborough University statement.
How To Apply For Loughborough University Sanctuary PhD Scholarships
Interested candidates must submit their applications after they get an offer to study at Loughborough University in a PhD programme.
Once the university receives the scholarship application, a confirmation email will be sent to the applicant.
The applicants will be notified by email about whether they are selected for the scholarship or not.
The selected candidates will be sent further information on the procedures ahead.
"Applications will be initially shortlisted and the final decision on the awards will be made by a selection panel at the University. Applications will not be considered unless the applicant is holding an offer at the time of submission," reads the Loughborough University statement.
