  • How to apply:
    • Applicants must apply for and receive an offer to study a full-time masters (including MRes) for 2025/26 at the University of Nottingham before applying for this scholarship. Search for courses and find out how to apply.
    • If applicants have an offer for a taught masters course, they can apply through the scholarships section of our application system, NottinghamHub.
    • If applicants have an offer for an MRes course, email the scholarships team on scholarship-assistant@nottingham.ac.uk for instructions on how to apply.
  • Application criteria :

    • In the  application, applicants will be asked about their achievements, study plans, reasons for choosing to study with us and details of predicted grades (if applicable). Make sure you have enough time to prepare strong answers. The university will assess their responses and academic merit when making scholarship decisions.
    • Please note that there is a strict word count limit for all questions, which is outlined at the end of each question. The system does not automatically limit this, so you would be encouraged to check your application before you submit. Any responses submitted that exceed the outlined word count may not be reviewed.

  • Scholarship requirements :
    • Applicants do not need to respond to their offer before submitting their application for this scholarship, however awards will only be made to students who accept their offer to study with us. The university will contact students at the end of June 2025 to confirm the outcome of your application.

    • If applicants are awarded this scholarship, it will be deducted from the tuition fees charged to their as a student at the University of Nottingham. The university will not pay tuition fee scholarships to applicants directly.

    • To maximise the reach of the university's scholarships offering, our international scholarships cannot be combined with other university scholarships. Where applicants are awarded multiple scholarships, the single highest-value award will be applied.

    • International scholarships are available to self-funded students only. If applicants are sponsored by an external funding body, e.g. government, business, employer, trust or charity, they are not eligible to apply.

  • International scholarship terms and conditions: 

    1. Accept the scholarship by the given deadline by responding to the award notification – the University reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a scholarship if it is not accepted by the given deadline.
    2. Meet the conditions attached to your academic offer (if it is a conditional offer).
    3. Join your academic course at the given start date and before the registration deadline.
    4. Be registered as a full-time student and be classified as overseas for fee purposes (excluding UoN Ukraine Scholars at Risk Scholarship).
    5. Inform the funding team of any other scholarships or sponsorship currently held, or awarded at a later date. The scholarship may be adjusted or withdrawn if other sources of funding have been awarded.
    6. Seek permission and obtain consent from the funding team before making any changes to your programme of study – this includes course transfers, changing the course title, suspending studies, etc. Please note that approval is not guaranteed. Where changes are made without prior approval, the scholarship will be withdrawn and you may be required to repay the scholarship in full.
