Eligibility

  • Students are eligible if they:
    • are an international student in accordance with the University’s Student Fees Policy
    • can demonstrate temporary and unexpected financial hardship
    • are enrolled full-time in any undergraduate program in the year of the award
    • have not received assistance from the Financial Hardship Assistance Scheme for the year of award
    • have not been awarded another scholarship, bursary or grant that the Chair considers similar.

Preference will be given to following candidates:

  • Preference may be given to Malaysian international students.

Application Process for this scholarship

  • To apply, students need to submit an online application with the following supporting documents:

    • identification: students' UQ student ID, plus one of their driver's license, Medicare card or passport
    • proof of income: at least 2 payslips or a current Centrelink Income Statement
    • bank statement: current bank account statements for the past 3 months (this must be an official statement; you can't submit a screenshot of your account)
    • proof of financial need: a quote, invoice or bill for the item you require financial assistance with.
