To get into the University of Queensland, international students are required to meet the academic requirements, like having a good GPA or a percentage. These students would generally need -

• A minimum of 75 to 80% in Class 12th for UG courses 
• Around 4.5 GPA on a scale of 7.0 for the PG level course

Other than the mentioned requirements, Indian students are also required to meet the English language proficiency requirements. 

International students would require a strong academic background, great English language proficiency by taking tests like IELTS, TOEFL or PTE and meet any other course specific admission requirements that UQ may ask for. Look at the list of UQ admission requirements given below - 

• A minimum GPA of 4.5 on a 7.0 scale
• IELTS: 6.5 - 7,  PTE: 64 & Above,  TOEFL: 87 & Above
• SAT with a typical score range of 1150 to 1350
• Extracurricular activities may be helpful

The minimum IELTS scores depend on the level an international student is applying for at the University of Queensland. However, to become eligible for most of the UQ courses, the students would generally need an overall IELTS score of 6.5  and a  6.0 in all the other strands which are Reading, Listening, Reading and Writing. 

Other than IELTS, international students can also opt to go for exams given below, they would require minimum scores in these as well -

• PTE: 64 - 72
• TOEFL: 87 - 100

The students can apply for two semesters at the University of Queensland which are semester 1 (February) and semester 2 (July).

The level of English required depends on the programme in which students are applying. To be eligible for entry to most UQ programs, you need to meet our minimum English language requirements (overall IELTS of 6.5 and 6.0 in all sub-bands or equivalent). For some programs, you must meet higher than usual English requirements.

University of Queensland UG placement rate is 81%, and the graduates found employment within few months of graduation. The University of Queensland PG placement rate is 86%. • Semester 2: 31 May, 2026 of the same year
