SUTD Singapore Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

SUTD does take an interview as an application process. Considering it’s acceptance rate is just 36%, that means only 36 students are only selected out of 100. The university seeks diverse students who demonstrate excellent academic grades and well-rounded individuals involved with extracurricular activities showcasing unique talent and experiences in their portfolio. Although the SUTD acceptance rate is competitive, applicants are evaluated for overall performance and not just particulate in one segment. Remember to give your best and emphasise your skills and talents that come in handy to SUTD interview. 

International students must submit proof of English Language proficiency to be considered for SUTD admission ( especially non-English speaking countries). Students can demonstrate that they are proficient in English by submitting the English proficiency test scores.

Below is way to get admission at SUTD-

Students will need to upload documents in PDF formats while submitting their online applications. Following documents must be submitted along with online application forms according to program-

• Academic transcripts and soft copies of certificates

• English language test scores

• SAT or GRE score

• LORs

• CV

• SOP

• Co-curricular activities and any other supplemental documents

• Passport

• Financial documents

In QS World Ranking 2026, SUTD has been placed at 519 position. Before taking admission at university, Indian students should assess this university on parameters such as academics, citations per faculty, faculty/student ratio and international faculty ratio or international student ratio. 

SUTD acceptance rate is 58% making it bit hard for students in world. International students require good GPA and academic profile to get into university. To be admitted to the SUTD  it is recommended to have a strong academic profile, including competitive scores in the GMAT or GREs.

SUTD offer few scholarships to Indian students based on merit or research work. Apart from this, Indian students can also take help of external scholarships from private institutions or their country’s govt to study at SUTD.

For UG students, university provide mentioned below scholarships-

• SUTD Global Excellence Scholarships- It is offered to students who show good academics. Beneficiary student’s tuition fee is subsidised and allowance of SGD 5,000 is given once in every 2 terms. This scholarship also provide optional grant of up to SGD 15,000 for students who graduate from SUTD and opt for PG degrees at SMU or SUTD within 3 years.

• ASEAN UG Scholarships- Offered to UG aspirants of ASEAN countries excluding Singapore, this scholarship recognizes students who have good co-curricular records, leadership skills and required academic grades.

SUTD offers mentioned below scholarships to PG students-

• SUTD President’s Graduate Fellowships- This fellowship offer complete tuition fee support along with monthly stipend of SGD 3,000 to eligible international PG students. Additional benefits are internships, sponsored overseas studies, etc.

• SUTD PhD Fellowships- This fellowship offer complete tuition fee support and monthly stipend from SGD 2,000 - SGD 2,500 to eligible international PG students.

SUTD does not charge any application fee from undergraduate applicants. However, graduate applicants need to pay a non-refundable amount of application fee of SGD 21.40 for all programmes. Students can pay via credit or debit cards through the university website.

We can't say that STUD as prestigious as much as MIT, as MIT is an IVY league and is know for various courses abd academic rigour. HoweverSUTD is affiliated with MIT and totally focuses on the development of students, MIT faculty played a significant role in developing a blueprint for the curriculum, including a structure for the curriculum and the degrees to be offered. More than 90% of our undergraduate curriculum was originally developed by MIT in SUTD. Hence MIT helped the SUTD to develop the curriculum. 

Below mentioned are requirements for B.Tech at SUTD-

• Students must have passed high school with good grades

• Students with good competency in Maths and Sciences are preferred.

• Transcripts of high school

• Academic records without relying on high school counsellors or another administrator. 

• SOP

• Portfolio-  This depends on course the applicant is choosing as this is not present in every program. But having creative and unique portfolio will help you get into SUTD.

There is no Application fee for UG at SUTD  as university eliminated fee for Undergraduates. By not having application fee, University is creating good options and opportunities for students across globe to pursue their educational interests and goals without financial burden on students. But for PG students, university hasn’t specified application fee, hence it is suggested to call admission office to get more details regarding process.
