SUTD Singapore Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

 Singapore University of Technology and Design acceptance rate is 36%, making it moderativley hard for students across the world. Students will need to upload the documents in PDF formats while submitting their online applications. The following documents must be submitted along with the online application forms as per the programme or course:

• Academic transcripts (original mark sheets) and soft copies of certificates

• English language test scores

• SAT or GRE score reports (as applicable)

• Letters of Recommendation (LORs)

• Student CV

• Statement of Purpose (SOP) or Personal Statement

• Co-curricular activities and any other supplemental documents

In the QS World University Ranking 2024, Singapore University of Technology and Design has been placed at the 429 position. SUTD does not charge any application fee from undergraduate applicants. However, graduate applicants need to pay a non-refundable amount of application fee of SGD 21.40 for all programmes. Students can pay via credit or debit cards through the university website.

SUTD offers a limited number of scholarships to international students based on merit or research work. Apart from this, international students can also take the help of external scholarships and aids from private institutions or their country’s government to study at SUTD.

For undergraduate students, the university offers the following scholarships:

• SUTD Global Excellence Scholarships: It is offered to international students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements. The beneficiary student’s tuition fee is subsidised, and an allowance of SGD 5,000 is provided once in every two terms. This scholarship also provides an optional grant of up to SGD 15,000 for students who graduate from SUTD and opt for postgraduate degrees at SMU or SUTD within three years.

• ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarships: Offered to UG aspirants of ASEAN countries, excluding Singapore, this scholarship recognizes students who have outstanding co-curricular records, showcase leadership skills, and required academic grades.

SUTD offers the following scholarships to graduate students:

• SUTD President’s Graduate Fellowships: This fellowship offers complete tuition fee support along with a monthly stipend of SGD 3,000 to eligible international graduate students. The additional benefits include internships, sponsored overseas studies, and much more.

• SUTD PhD Fellowships: This fellowship offers complete tuition fee support and a monthly stipend ranging from SGD 2,000 to SGD 2,500 to eligible international graduate students.

We can't say that STUD as prestigious as much as MIT, as MIT is an IVY league and is know for various courses abd academic rigour. HoweverSUTD is affiliated with MIT and totally focuses on the development of students, MIT faculty played a significant role in developing a blueprint for the curriculum, including a structure for the curriculum and the degrees to be offered. More than 90% of our undergraduate curriculum was originally developed by MIT in SUTD. Hence MIT helped the SUTD to develop the curriculum. 

Below are the requirements for B.Tech at Signapore University of Technology and Design:

• Applicants must have passed high school with good grades

• Students with strong competency in Mathematics and the Sciences are generally preferred.

• Transcripts of your high school: Transcripts include your information and performance in high school and other scores such as entrance exams, i.e. SAT or ACT.

• Academic records without relying on high school counsellors or another administrator. 

• SOP: An SOP is essential for the application process for SUTD. It helps the applicant convey their talents, academic excellence, accomplishments, and personal background.

There is no Application fee for UG at SUTD  as the university eliminated the fee exclusively for Undergraduates. By not having an application fee, the University is creating good options and opportunities for students across the globe to pursue their educational interests and goals without the financial burden on the students.
