Q:   How is the Student visa process at South Korea for an MBA?

International students who get admission to MBA programs in South Korea need to apply for D-2 Student Visa which is required for degree programs that are longer than 90 days. The visa application requires a passport, an admission letter from South Korean university, proof of financial ability, academic transcripts and a completed visa application form. English language proficiency is required as most MBA programs are taught in English, though knowledge of Korean is a bonus. The visa allows students to stay in country for full program which is about 12-24 months and provides permission to students which is limited to just part-time work to support living costs. The visa issuance process usually takes 4-6 weeks once the necessary documents are submitted to the Korean Embassy.
