1. GKS Scholarship
Currently known as GKS (Global Korea Scholarship), a Korean Government Scholarship Programme is for all international students who wish to pursue higher education in Korea. The objective behind the same is to push international education exchange and enhance mutual friendship among the nations which are participating.
- Bachelor’s Degree Course: 5 to 7 years – One year of Korean language training 4 to 6 years of a degree programme.
- Associate Degree Course: 3 to 4 years – One year of Korean language training 2 to 3 years of a degree programme.
Eligibility: Applicants should possess citizenship of NIIED designation nations which are participating in the GKS programme and their parents or legal guardians should possess citizenship of a nation other than Korea. The age of the applicant should not exceed 25 years.
Covers: Economy class flight ticket, settlement allowance of 200,000 KRW, monthly allowance of 900,000 KRW /month, Korean proficiency grants of 100,000 KRW/month, degree completion grants of 100,000 KRW, medical insurance, language training fee, and tuition.
2. Korea University Scholarship
Students with excellent academic performance are provided with different types of undergraduate scholarships by Korea University.
Eligibility: The applicant should hold the nationality of a foreign nation and should have got admission to KU with international students’ qualifications evaluated by the international education team.
3. Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) Scholarship
Offered to Indian students, this scholarship is given for pursuing postgraduate or doctoral studies in South Korea.
Eligibility: The applicant should be holding citizenship of a country other than Korea and should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Also, his/her age should not exceed 40 years as of September 1 of the year he/she is applying.
