Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai MBA Fellowship applications open till June 13, 2014

The Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) is seeking MBA candidates, who are citizens of India and interested in contributing to the country’s human and socio-economic progress, to apply for the Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai MBA Fellowship. The fellowship, which aims at supporting Indian nationals living in India who need financial assistance in pursuing an MBA at Stanford, is nearing the application deadline. Applications would be accepted through June 13, 2014.
Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows will receive tuition support and associated fees of an estimated $145,000 (around Rs 87.52 lakh) total value per Fellow for the two-year programme. Funding is automatically renewed for the second year if the student maintains good academic standing at Stanford GSB.
After graduation from the MBA programme, each fellow must return to India for a minimum of two years of employment in the private or public sector. The return to India would help the fellows apply their new skills to make an impact in the country.
Up to 50 finalists will be selected by mid-July on the basis of merit, commitment to developing India, and financial need. These parameters will be assessed through a review of each individual’s personal resources. Among the 50 finalists, Stanford may select up to five Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows, based on the admission criteria important to the college; intellectual vitality, demonstrated leadership potential, and personal qualities and contributions.
The application requires students to submit the following documents:
- Educational history and scores: 10th board exams, 12th board exams, Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), and/or Common Admission Test (CAT). You may also submit scores of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), and/or Graduate Record Examination (GRE), if available. These are optional at the fellowship application stage. If you are selected as a finalist, you will be required to take one of these exams as part of your application to the MBA program.
- Awards and honors (academic or social)
- Employment history and aspirations
- Resume/curriculum vitae (C.V.)
- 250-word essay question
- Individual financial information*
*To demonstrate financial need, students will ultimately be required to complete the Financial Aid Applications and submit copies of their tax returns and other documentation. Intentionally reporting incorrect information may result in withdrawal of the award and withdrawal of ‘offer of admission’ from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
