History of University of Winchester
University of Winchester is international public research university founded in 1840 in Hampshire, England. Winchester Diocesan Training School was founded in 1840 as Church of England foundation. Later in 1928, the College became King Alfred's College.
Between 2003 and 2004, the College passed the assessment of the Quality Assurance Agency proving that its standards were fully in sync with the university sector overall. By the year 2005, the Privy Council had been discussing and came to the title of University of Winchester, and Research degrees were offered by 2008.
