Study abroad is not just about curriculum but experiencing a new life
Tips: Check for eligible and available scholarships before joining. It was a huge cultural shift from India, as the UK has quieter evenings and all the shops shut early. The university has a huge campus and has all the necessary amenities and services. No quick commerce, so it was mandatory to stock essentials.
Likes (Student Life): An MBA was all about lectures, presentations, and networking. It was fun to meet people from diverse backgrounds. People in my batch had a good amount of industry experience, so it was a great knowledge-sharing environment. I was a part of the Students' Union, where a lot of campus events took place, and we organized the majority of them.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Limited veg food options are available within campus, and the restaurants that do serve veg food are off campus in the town center, which is a bit far. Hence, I mostly prefer cooking by myself. It is mandatory to learn cooking as well because food delivery options are limited and not available 24x7 like in India.

Beautiful fun loving and nostalgic
Tips: Before you actually arrive at Essex, you definitely want to sort out your housing and figure out how you're getting around. The Colchester campus is pretty unique because it’s built around these massive concrete squares, and honestly, it is incredibly easy to get completely lost during your first week. You’ll save yourself a massive headache if you pull up the campus map early and get a feel for where your lecture halls actually are. It’s also a really smart move to download your module syllabus and timetable the second they go live so you aren't scrambling and missing classes right off the bat. Outside of campus, make sure you explore the town of Colchester itself. It’s actually Britain's oldest recorded town, so it has a cool historic vibe, but you'll want to figure out the bus routes from campus into the town center early on so you know where the best food spots, supermarkets, and pubs are.

Lovely campus good facilities
Tips: They actually have scholarships for anyone who cleared their HSC with over 60%, but just heads up—you also need to score really well in English to qualify. The info I got was solid, but honestly, the whole study abroad scene in the UK is a bit of a mess right now. With all the recent law changes and them cutting back on post-study work (PSW) visas, it’s getting tricky. You definitely need to do your homework and research everything thoroughly before making a move.

Great opportunity for students.
Tips: Better to get accommodation in university so you get a good connection with university students and professors, so easy to communicate and better internships and assignments help. You can apply for hardship funds of 1000 GBP for you to live in the UK.

Balanced growth, strong support with room to improve.
Tips: Programme structure is rigorous but rewarding; workload can be heavy in core terms. Campus resources are strong like the library, career centre, counselling but some services have long wait times. Housing options vary by department; apply early and check visa/tuition requirements if you're international. Caring into a new city can be overwhelming at first, but peer groups and orientation events helped a lot. Cultural differences mainly involve communication style and time management expectations.
Likes (Safety): The campus feels very secure with a visible security presence well-lit areas and quick response times. Low crime rates in the area and a strong sense of community trust. The campus feels very secure: visible security presence well-lit areas and quick response times. Low crime rates in the area and a strong sense of community trust.
Dislikes (Internships): The internship opportunities were limited in number and geographic availability and several postings required prior experience I didn't have. Some resources exist including a general career portal and a few campus workshops but guidance is fragmented.
