Q:   How to get into MS in Computer Science course from Boston University?

A: 

To take admission to the MS in Computer Science course of BU, meet the entry requirements given below:

  • A background in Computer Science: The applicants must have a strong background in Computer Science. This includes education in Computer Systems, Algorithms, Programming Languages, and Theory. If the applicants are lacking in one or two of these areas, but otherwise have a strong background in Computer Science, may be admitted with pre-requisite courses.

  • A three-year bachelor’s degree is required

  • GPA requirement: There is no minimum GPA requirement, however, Boston University recommends that the applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (Based on a 4.0 scale)

  • GRE score

  • IELTS / TOEFL score

  • Academic Transcripts

  • Personal Statement

  • Letters of Recommendation

But, as a rule of thumb, the average percentiles of admitted students at Boston University are 80% for Quantitative and 60% for Verbal.
