Brooklyn Law School has different centres within the campus that focus on specific areas of law. They host their own lectures, forums, and discussions that address pressing legal issues. The Centre for Urban Business Entrepreneurship (CUBE) focuses on legal issues that are concerned with entrepreneurship, and how to tackle commercial legal obligations. The Centre for the Study of Business Law and Regulation offers wide-ranging perspectives on how to tackle practical business law issues. The international law courses take place in the Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law. There are two other centres of study called Center for Law Language and Cognition, and Center for Health, Science and Public Policy.
Another distinguishing factor of Brooklyn Law School is the Joint Dual Degree that it offers. It enables a student to earn a Juris Doctor along with either a Master’s Degree or an LL.M degree. This joint dual degree course can be obtained through Brooklyn Law School’s international partner universities like University of Essex, Tel Aviv University and Hong Kong University. Brooklyn, New York is a hub of innovation and business, and the law school is located very close to Wall Street, which is the epicentre of international finance. Brooklyn Law School has produced eminent personalities in their respective fields, such as New York City Mayor David Dinkins, Barry Salzberg (the CEO of Deloitte and Touche) and Marty Brandier, the CEO of Sony/ATV Music.
