In order to seek admission in the California State University, applicants must apply via the online Cal State Apply application between October 01 2025 – May 01, 2026 for Fall entry. Also, students must meet the minimum GPA which can be 3.0 and also, an English language proficiency score has to be submitted.

Current Cal State LA students who will continue to be enrolled in a degree, credential, or certificate programme are eligible to complete a General Scholarship Application.

Students who are currently finishing up their undergraduate programme and plan to return to Cal State LA in Fall 2024 as a new Master’s degree, doctorate, or credential student are ineligible to apply.

Cal State LA has a unit named CSU International Programs Scholarships, under which International students can apply for scholarships provided by the university. Additionally, grants are available on the basis of financial need and do not have to be repaid. Sources of grant funds are available through Federal and State Governments. Grants are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and are prorated based on enrollment. Cal State LA also offers several loans such as Federal Direct Loans, Private Loans, Dream Loan, Nursing Loans and more in order to aid students financially. However, these loans must be repaid by the students.
