The College of Staten Island is a four year, a senior college of The City University of New York. Also known as CSI/CUNY, the college has been giving exceptional opportunities to its students. It offers doctoral, advanced certificate, master's programs, bachelor's and associate programs in humanities, sociology and science and technology. From undergraduate research to working on doctoral theses, students at the College of Staten Island are given apparatuses and openings they have to make positive contributions to society. The Middle States Commission has given license to CSI on Higher Education. CSI's academic year follows a two-semester pattern, with separate summer and winter sessions. Classes are planned on weekdays, nights, and weekends. The Continuing Education program is offered by the college along with off-campus courses with and without credit.
Completed in 1994, the 204-acre campus of CSI/CUNY is situated on the biggest physical New York City school site. Featuring a recreation centre boasting of scenic landscape, the campus incorporates 300 study halls, research facilities and instructional spaces, study lounges, department and program workplaces, and staff workplaces, along with broad athletic facilities and an acclaimed Center for the Arts. CSI is home to The Lucille and Jay Chazanoff School of Business at the College of Staten Island, School of Education, and School of Health Sciences, as well as The Verrazano School Honors Program, and the Teacher Education Honors Academy. CSI is additionally a select campus of the Macaulay Honors College University Scholars program
Being a part of The City University of New York, the College of Staten Island offers various academic programs in liberal arts and sciences. Also, doctoral programs are accessible on campus in a joint effort with The CUNY Graduate Center. CSI students perform research with faculty in each academic discipline on campus, utilizing the college's best in class equipment and facilities in excess of 70 advanced science labs, including the CUNY High-Performance Computing Facility, the Center for Developmental Neuroscience and Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Institutional Research, among others.
