Located 100 miles southwest of Atlanta, the Columbus State University enrolls more than 8,200 students in a wide variety of degree programs, from online degrees to a doctorate in education. It is a part of the University System of Georgia, offers nationally approved unique programs in nursing, business, education, arts, and more. It ensures that the student gets opportunities to explore their creativity.
Columbus State University has both main and RiverPark campuses in Columbus, Ga. It also offers courses at Fort Benning located south of Columbus. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. CSU offers about 100 different degree programs, including an array of quality online programs. Many of the programs are nationally accredited and have received attention from a variety of publications for ranking among the top in the country for their combination of quality and value. The student-faculty ratio at the university is 18:1.
The university promotes community partnerships for students. This allows the students to deliver excellent results while achieving personal and professional excellence in an increasingly competitive environment. The majority of the lessons are taught at the main campus, where the facilities have been enhanced. More developments continue to be installed to the benefit of the students. There is an upgrade to the technology, learning spaces, and other facilities to ensure the students can conduct research and studies efficiently. Apart from this, the university has a freshman housing complex to cater to housing needs, a fully fitted science laboratory to ensure the students have enough facilities and a well-serviced baseball complex for recreational needs.
The university ensures the students have a rich learning experience by providing a resource center for research and reference viz. Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center and Coca-Cola Space Science Center. The Rankin Arts Center and the River Center is a state-of-the-art performing arts facility that houses three performance halls, a world-class organ, and the university's widely respected school of music. There are additional educational opportunities available in the Honours College.
The university is aware of the fact that the student needs a well-rounded experience. Therefore they have put in place sports facilities, among other recreational activities. There is a new soccer complex that houses a student center, classrooms, laboratories, offices, auditoriums, cafeterias, and other gathering areas. Students have a wide variety of choices for study and comfort. This will, in turn, aid them in growing their lives in a wholesome way. The computer labs in university are open 24 hours a day and students have access to them. There are counseling professionals in the university who will guide and give support to the student at any time they feel they need it.
All students have a chance to enjoy traditional learning opportunities like internships, clinical experiences, cooperative education, and field research. The dedicated staff of the university ensures that the student has guidance in and out regarding their choices. Students can apply for leadership and honors programs to build on their current study programs.
