Being founded in the year 1850, Heidelberg University is a four-year private institution that combines liberal arts and professional preparation. It is affiliated under The United Church of Christ. It was previously known as the Heidelberg College. The architecture of the campus is such that it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Heidelberg University is located on a 125-acre campus with approximately 90 additional surrounding acres in Tiffin. The campus is located on the east side of Tiffin on College Hill. the university offers around 74 Majors, Minors, Pre-Professional programs.
