F-1 students are allowed to work on campus while they are enrolled in a full-time course at Lehman College. Students are allowed to work part-time for 20 hours per week during regular full-time semesters and they are allowed to work full-time during the Winter and Summer sessions. 

For off-campus employment, students have to complete at least one academic year of study and obtain authorization from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for certain types of employment, such as Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT). Students who work off school can find employment in retail, restaurants, office assistant, tutoring, and other fields. They are able to make $15 to $20 each hour.
