Educational Requirements

  • Academic: All undergraduate and graduate institutions attending/have attended after high school (postsecondary school), academic degree (s) pursued, received, and/or in progress, and GMAT point average (GPA).
  • Language Requirements: Applicants must secure 100 in TOEFL iBT / Overall IELTS score of 7.0 / Overall score of 68 in PTE Academic.
  • Test Scores: Stanford accepts accept test scores for the official online versions of the GMAT and GRE exams and students must submit their scores while applying.

Note: For Indian students, the two-year master's degree following the three-year bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Personal Information, Activities, and Awards

  • Personal Information: Applicants will have to fill in their personal details, such as date of birth, citizenship, and family information.
  • Activities and Interests: If the candidate has participated in athletic, charitable, civic, community, company-sponsored, or professional activities, they must include examples of the same.
  • Awards and Honors: Students must list all their accomplishments for which you've received recognition. Also, they can share academic, civic, professional, and other accolades.

Professional Experience

Work experience is not a mandate for admissions to Stanford MBA. If the candidate has prior experience, they must submit details of the same. However, note that the AdCom focuses on the impact a candidate had in their workplace, instead of the name or stature of the organisation they have worked in.

  • Business Resume: Applicants must submit a one-page resume. Unless a candidate has over 10 years of experience, the resume must not exceed the one-page limit.

Letters of Recommendation and Essays

  • LOR: Stanford requires require two letters of recommendation - one from current direct supervisor at work and the other from another supervisor.
  • Essay: Candidates must submit two personal essays, with a combined word-limit of 1,000 words. Topics for these essays are: 1) What matters most to you, and why? 2) Why Stanford?

Application Fee/Fee Waiver

  • Candidates must either pay USD 275 (INR 23.5 K) or apply for a fee waiver.
