Q:   What are the requirements for Masters in public health at the University of Michigan Flint?
A: 

1.  Official transcripts from all the college's applicant has attended 

2. Applicants must submit three LORs that have to speak about their past experience and performance for a successful completion of the MPH program.

3. A SOP must be submitted to SOPHAS and they must be typewritten of 500 words or less and include as follows:

  • What is you concentration of interest and how would completion of the MPH programme allow you to live your purpose

  • Describe how your coursework, work/volunteer, and life experiences have prepared you to be successful in the MPH program. In your answer please also include experiences that have helped you better understand, address, and/or advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity issues.

  • Describe your experiences with facing and overcoming adversity.

  • Describe how your characteristics and goals are congruent with the Program’s mission and values (see below)

  • Describe how your personal or academic background and experiences will bring a unique perspective to the programme and positively contribute to the Public Health community

  • Any special Circumstances applicable to your application.

Some of the tips for students starting their first-semester at the UM Flint are:

  • Students who applied for  University of Michigan must be humble and should interact with as many people as possible. Mainly beacause, the more people you talk to the better knowledge you get. 
  • Attend as many gathering and parties as much as you can. 
  • Applicants should avoid missing classess, as 70% of learning comes from students going to classes. 
  • Students can get invovlved with extracuricular activities, i.e joing university clubs, sports etc. This will also look good on a portfolio in the longer run.

UM-Flint is a campus where mostly commuter campuses with students living with their families or on their own in the surrounding areas. Whereas the UM-Ann Arbor is a residential educational community in which nearly 100 percent of first-year students live in campus housing.
