De Montfort University (DMU) Dubai is a branch of the original university campus in Leicester in the UK. It provides UK equivalent degrees in UAW. De Montfort University is originally a globally recognized UK university, established in Leicester in 1870. History of De Montfort University Leicester
In 2021, DMU Dubai was established as branch of original campus DMU Leicester. DMU Dubai is administered and managed by DMU Leicester. The Dubai campus follows the standards, administration, management, and operations of DMU Leicester. The DMU Dubai campus is quite new, but DMU Leicester has a deep history. Let us look into that.
Named after 13th century Earl of Leicester, Simon De Montfort, De Montfort University Leicester was formed in 1870. In 1265, he built the first English parliament. Initially, it was established as the Leicester School of Art, it developed into Leicester Polytechnic and Leicester Colleges of Art and Technology. In June 1992, it became De Montfort University officially. The university developed, built, and modified its courses according to the needs of modern developments and industry. It offered courses in Arts, Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, and Fashion. It offers varied facilities to its students, even on its Dubai campus, such as:

Undergraduate Admissions Eligibility
For Indian students, these courses have a minimum entry required score of 65% in Grade XII. The percentage must be from the best of four subjects, which excludes Hindi and/or any local language.
Students also need to complete their English Language Proficiency test, passing with eligible score. Minimum requirements for each Language Proficiency test such as IELTS, TOEFL and Pearson PTE are same for all specializations. Student must have scored 6.0 score in IELTS examination. For TOEFL, student must score 72 with 20 in speaking, 17 in listening and writing and 18 in reading. Also, for Pearson PTE examination, student must have scored 51.
PG Admissions Eligibility
Regarding admissions into postgraduate courses of De Montfort University Dubai, the criteria is simple. One must have a Bachelor’s degree which is same as the 2:2 UK Bachelor’s Honours degree. For Indian students, this means the student must have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subjects, aligning with the course one is applying for. The percentage of the Bachelor’s course must be above 50%. This is equivalent to 6.0 in the 10.0 GPA system, and 4.0 in the 7.0 GPA system. Internation Year Zero (IYZ) Admissions Eligibility
This is a foundation course which will create pathway to specialized undergraduate courses at De Montfort University Dubai. The requirements for entering into this IYZ foundation course is scoring 60% in Grade XI, and 45% in Grade XII, for Indian students. This is for CBSE, or any equivalent board under the Indian education system.

Yes, based on the course you applied for, DMU Dubai can charge extra fees for certain facilities they will provide. For science, engineering and computing programs, the university can charge additional costs to provide access and usage of laboratory amenities. De Montfort University Dubai also charge studio fees for courses on design and creative arts. The student also needs to buy software required for certain computing, fashion, and engineering courses.
