About SUNY Polytechnic Institute
Based in Marcy, New York, the SUNY Polytechnic Institute is known for its qualty education, it is part of the NCAA Division 3. History
The roots of SUNY Poly date back to 1966, when Upper Division College at Herkimer / Rome / Utica was founded. It began offering graduate programs to students then. In the year 1971, the college began operating in a former mill building in West Utica. In 1977, the institute adopted a new name, the State University of New York College of Technology at Utica-Rome. In 1981, construction began on a new campus.
In 2014, the SUNY Polytechnic Institute was officially formed.
