History
The university was founded in 1882 by the Churches of God and the citizens of Findlay. Soon the university began with the construction of the foundation walls and basement. Unfortunately, during the construction of the university, the building was damaged by the vandals as they punched holes through the plastering of the wall. Findlay College opened on September 1, 1886, with an enrollment of just 70 students. Over the years Findlay College progressed and even established a gymnasium, a conservatory of Music, and even planted 200 trees at the campus. Unfortunately, in 1938, a fire broke out in the basement of the Old Main at the Findlay College resulting in the entire building being damaged by the heat and smoke from the fire. The College soon got back up on its feet and continued to make progress in multiple areas such as introducing more programs, halls, faculties, and others. Findlay College was officially renamed as Findlay University in 1990.

Conditional admission means that a student is granted admission into a particular programme under the condition that he or she first completes a set of requirements set by the school. Undergraduate students are required to submit a 61 TOEFL, 6.0 IELTS, 50 PTE Academic, or 3.5 iTEP test score as part of their application to the University of Findlay.
At this time, we do not have any application fee or deposit waivers. The application fee helps to cover our in-house transcript evaluation as no external evaluation, like WES, is required. The deposit will go toward your tuition once enrolled in classes.
If given prerequisites during admission, these will be taken during your first semester at the University of Findlay.
University of Findlay provides on-campus accommodation facilities for students. Foreign students who attend university have option to reside on campus. They can choose from various on-campus accommodations, including single apartments, houses, traditional dormitories, and townhouses. If you choose to live in on-campus accommodation facilities, you will have more access to the infrastructural facilities of The University of Findlay. You will also be able to make community and peer bonds while living in on-campus facilities. All the more reason for you to live on-campus is safety and security it assures. Living off campus will offer students more independence and freedom. Also, it may cost you less than living on campus.
Your admission can be deferred for up to two academic years. This allows a chance to secure a new visa interview appointment and try again. If you were denied and do not wish to try again, and followed the procedure here, you may receive a refund of the $500 deposit minus a $50 administrative processing fee.
International students, both undergraduate and graduate, are not required to live in on-campus housing, although many choose to live on-campus. There are temporary living quarters on-campus called “Welcome Houses” that students can stay for a small fee until they find an off-campus living arrangement if that is what they choose.
Once the enrollment deposit has been received and sufficient financial statements uploaded, it will take typically take less than five business days for the I-20 to be issued.
