Q:   What are University of the Pacific admission requirements for undergraduates?
A: 

In order to get enrolled in University of the Pacific for higher studies, all international undergraduate students are required to fulfill certain admission requirements. Candidates can refer to the listing below for UOP's entry-requirements for prospective overseas students applying for bachelor's courses:

  • Completed online application along with USD 55 = INR 4,585* application fee;
  • Official or certified copies of academic records for all secondary and post-secondary study;
  • Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS: 6.5 | TOEFL: 90 | Duolingo: 110);
  • SAT/ACT score (s);
  • Academic recommendation from high school counselor or teacher;
  • Personal statement; and
  • Certification of finances.

Based on the ratio of admissions to applications, University of the Pacific acceptance rate stands at 94.8%. Since the stats are on the higher end, we can conclude that UOP is a not a very competitive university to get in, as it admits more than half of the applicants. Once an applicant fulfills University of the Pacific admission requirements, ie, competitive grades, standardized test scores (SAT/ACT), English language requirements, as well as relevant documents, they are most likely to secure admission in the university. Q:   How can international students get into University of the Pacific for Masters courses?
A: 

In order to get enrolled in University of the Pacific for higher studies, all international graduate students are required to fulfill certain admission requirements. Candidates can refer to the listing below for UOP's entry-requirements for prospective overseas students applying for master's courses:

  • Completed online application along with USD 55 = INR 4,585* application fee;
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field;

  • Course-by-course foreign transcript evaluation from an approved transcript evaluation service;

International students can get their IELTS/TOEFL scores waived off if they have a sufficiently high SAT or ACT score. However, submitting a SAT or ACT score is optional, although it can strengthen the application. 

Mentioned below are the ideal scores mentioned for these two entrance tests: 

  • SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) score of at least 570

  • ACT Composite score of 22 or higher

Q:   How can an Indian student get admission to the University of the Pacific?
A: 

In order to secure an admission in the University of the Pacific, all international students (including Indian students) should take the TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English test. However, this requirement can be waived off under the circumstances listed below:

  • SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing score of 570; OR
  • ACT Composite score of 22 or above.

Apart from this, Indian students also need to complete the online application, present their academic results, SOP, Letter of recommendation, copy of passport, resume, TOEFL score, certified copy of academic transcripts, passport size photographs. Lastly, applicants must go through the requirements for the specific course that they are applying to.

Q:   Does the University of the Pacific give scholarships to Indian students?
A: 

University of the Pacific offers scholarships to international students. As per the official website of the University, students will be able to choose amongst the options listed below:

  • Powell Scholarship - International 1st year students can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship has a separate admission & interview process. Students who want to avail the scholarship must apply both for admission process and for the Powell scholarship for full consideration.
  • Academic Merit Scholarships - This applies to students who have graduated from a high school outside of the US. Upon admission to the university, students are considered for a domestic academic merit scholarship. The scholarship amount fall in the range of $8,000 to $24,000.
  • International Student Merit Scholarships - Students can also explore from the several international merit scholarships offered by the University to international students applying as first year or transfer students. Scholarship amount is $15,000 and can be availed by high school students outside of the US. 
  • Athletic Scholarships are also available for international students.
Q:   Is studying in the University of the Pacific expensive?

University of the Pacific offers undergraduate, graduate as well as professional programs in the fields of Medicine, Arts & Humanities, Law, Science, Business, Psychology, Performing Arts and more on all levels of study.
