UNE Australia History
UNE began as Australia's first regional university at Armidale in Northern New South Wales. The university opened as the Armidale Teachers' College. It expanded over the upcoming years, which led to the start of the New England University College, as part of the University of Sydney system, in 1938. It took over its present-day name in 1954.
