University of New England: Courses, Admission, Cost

Established in 1938 as New England University College, the University of New England received its independent university status in 1954. Notably, it is an open university. With its main campus located in northern central New South Wales in the Armidale city, the university was the first university of Australia formed outside a state capital city which now holds about 22,300 students pursuing higher education.

The university campuses are located in several areas of Armidale. The university is spread over a land of 74 hectares with its northern campus just 5 km to the northwest of the city center. The campus maintains several buildings including the aged homestead, 'Booloominbah'.
