Established in 1908, the University of Alberta is a public research university based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. History
The university began as part of the Queen Alexandra School in Edmonton, with around 45 students enrolled in BA or BSc courses in the fields of Arts and Applied Science. There were no residences or buildings on campus, with students living in private residences near the campus. Scholarships worth CAD 100 were offered to 4 students each. The college opened two new buildings in 1911, the Alberta College and the Athabasca Hall, the first student residence.
By 1913, the student enrolment increased to 434, and by 1953, this increased to 3,691. It continued its expansion, opening up 4 new campuses, 100+ Institutes and Centers, a dedicated athletics program that produced the most Academic All-Canadian athletes in the country (4,202), and started offering study-abroad programs, the current total for which stands at over 270.

Undergraduate Requirements

Maths is needed for admission to Science, Business, and Engineering courses. A minimum of 75% overall in your Class 12th exams means you would not have to submit English scores. Otherwise, an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band OR a TOEFL-iBT score of 90 with no section less than 21 is required.
Graduate Requirements
A UG degree with a minimum of 60% overall, a First Class Standing, or Division B grade overall is needed. Other requirements include a valid study permit, IELTS Academic or TOEFL scores, along with a GMAT or GRE score for admission to Business courses at the Alberta School of Business.
