History
In 1845, the Uni of Galway was founded but the doors finally opened in 1849. Female students joined Galway University in 1906. Then, In 1908, the name was changed to University College Galway. Then, in 1997, the name was changed to National University of Ireland Galway or NUI Galway. Then, in 2022, finally it got its name as University of Galway.
