For the majority of its programs, Otago Polytechnic uses a rolling admissions procedure, accepting applicants all year round. International applicants are advised to submit their applications at least three to four months prior to the start of the program.The following are the specific dates for undergraduate and graduate courses:

1. Undergraduate courses: Applications are accepted through November for the first semester, which starts in February.
Applications are accepted until May, and the second semester starts in July.
2. Postgraduate courses: Six weeks before the start of the intake, applications must be submitted.
