Eligibility:
- 8 or more years of work experience
- 5 or more years in a managerial position
- 30 years of age or older
- A college degree or the equivalent
- Senior management experience or potential
All applicants must have the written endorsement of their organization, confirming that the organization supports the application and understands the time commitments required to fulfill all class attendance and study.
Application Requirements
Admission to the Wharton MBA Program for Executives requires the completion of our online application, which includes:
- Background information including academic degrees earned, professional experience, and optional family information.
- Two Letters of Recommendation from professional supervisors (preferably direct managers, clients or former employers)
- Three Essay Questions (fourth essay question is optional):
- Essay Question 1 – 750 word limit: What is your career objective and how will the Wharton MBA Program for Executives contribute to your attainment of these objectives?
- Essay Question 2 – 500 word limit: Students and alumni of the Wharton School form a lifelong learning community. What do you feel you will contribute as a student in the MBA Program for Executives and as a Wharton alumnus/a?
- Essay Question 3 – Required; 500 word limit: Given your already demanding job and the desire to remain committed to important family and personal obligations, how do you plan to handle this additional demand on you?
- Optional Essay Question 4: 500 word limit: Please explain any extenuating circumstances of which the Admissions Committee should be aware (e.g., unexplained gaps in your work experience, choice of recommenders, inconsistent academic performance). You may also take this opportunity to share other defining aspects of your life that the Admissions Committee would not otherwise have learned from your application or resume.
(Applicants must arrange to have official transcripts sent from their prior academic institutions in time to be received by the deadline. )
- GMAT/GRE Scores: For regular deadline applicants, the latest date to take the test for admissible scores is March 3, 2014; for early deadline applicants to San Francisco the GMAT deadline is December 2, 2013. For Early Deadline applicants to Philadelphia, a complete application must be submitted to request a decision. GRE scores will be accepted if candidate has earned a prior master’s degree for which GRE test results were submitted. GRE results must be less than five years old at the time of your application.
- Provide a Sponsorship Letter of Endorsement: A letter of endorsement from organisation is required. For independent consultants and professionals, a letter of self-sponsorship is required. For Fellows nominations, the organization must provide a letter of nomination, citing the managerial potential of the candidate and confirming a commitment for substantial financial and program-related support.
- Post submitting the application, an interview with a member of the Admissions Committee is required for all Fellows candidates and is strongly encouraged for other applicants too. “You must have completed your interview by March 1. An early interview is strongly encouraged.”
- A non-refundable application fee of $180
