All Indian students are required to fulfil the following USYD admission requirements to secure a seat at the university:

  • Official academic transcripts
  • Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS | 6.5 with no band below 6.0 or other English tests like TOEFL iBT or PTE)
  • Proof of identity (passport)
  • CV/Resume
  • Personal Statement or Portfolio (Program-specific)
  • Certificate of Completion of high school for UG (AISSCE, CISCE, or IHSC) and a Bachelor's degree for PG

-UG Indian students must present the average of the best four subjects in Standard XII + English or Hindi for CBSE. For ISC, the required score is the average of the best four subjects, including English. For HSSC, the requirement is the best five academic subjects.

While SAT and ACT are indeed recoognized by the University of Sydney with completion of a secondary or high school qualification, its not mandatory for Indian students to submit the same. USYD recognizes Indian qualifications like AISSCE or CISCE and has stated the required grade equivalent for programs. Students can check the same on the official website.

Q:   Is a student visa mandatory to study at USYD?

Yes international students are required to hold a valid Australian visa for the duration of their study. Students can apply for the same after formally accepting their offer letter from USYD and paying course fees.
