Australian Student Visa Update: The Australian Government capped the international student visa issues to 2,70,000 per year starting 2025. International applicants are required to pay a higher Visa application fee, which was primarily AUD 710, and after two revisions, it is AUD 2,000. On top of that, international applicants are now required to show AUD 29,710 (INR 17.12L) for living expenses to apply to the University of Sydney.
Students must have the following documents to apply for an Australian Student Visa:
- The original passport should be secured in a separate envelope. It is recommended to submit the original passport with their application, as this reduces delays associated with further document requests
- Application form 157A, followed by form 956 (if applicable)
- Visa Application fee of AUD 2000, which is INR 1.15L approx
- Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) from an education provider
- Academic documents - including educational certificates, diplomas or degrees (as applicable), and English test results
- Identity documents, including marriage certificates, birth certificates, custody documents (if applicable), and copies of passports
- Financial documents - including evidence of health cover, evidence of funds, and evidence of source of income. Please separate each sponsor's financial documents and place each affidavit of support with that sponsor's funds
