Boston University: MyBU Student registration to resume today

After students faced system issues while registering at the MyBU registration portal, Boston University said that registration would be resumed today, April 15, 2024.

Boston University apologized for the system issues encountered this registration weekend. The university said that the student registration will resume on April 15, 2024.

"MyBU Student registration will resume on April 15. Enrollment appointment times will be posted on the Registrar's website after 5 pm today, following previous criteria. Note: You will only be able to access the system during your designated enrollment window," reads the message by Boston University on the X platform.

Students currently enrolled in a Boston University degree program are encouraged to check with their school/college for specific registration requirements. Non-degree students will follow Metropolitan College’s guide for registration, according to the official statement. Those who had a period of absence from the university due to leave or something while pursuing a degree program will contact their school/college’s advising office for assistance with returning to the University.

Boston University Fall 2024 Registration Details

The students need to do the following: 

Step 1: Confirm your registration start date and time.

Step 2: Meet with your academic advisor (if your school/college requires advising or restricts online registration)

Step 3: Log in to the MyBU Student and confirm you have met all requirements for registration.

Step 4: Use the Schedule Builder to choose classes and start planning your schedule before your registration date/time.

Step 5: Browse through the Registrar’s website to read important information on the University’s Legal Notice on student financial obligation, adding/dropping classes, withdrawals and leaves of absence, and more.

If you are successfully registered for classes in MyBU Student, those classes will remain and you will see them on your schedule during or after your enrollment appointment, said the university in another statement.

Fall 2024 Application Deadline for International Students

The application deadline for international students is July 15, 2024. "Applications are considered complete once ALL components of the application have been received. Candidates who apply through the Global Impact Deferred Admissions process and BA/MAIA candidates should follow the guidelines associated with their program," reads the official statement.

International student visas can be issued up to 120 days in advance of the start date of the program, but students will only be allowed to enter the country 30 days before the start date of the program. International candidates should submit an application at least 3 months before the start date of the program to ensure they can complete the admissions process and process a student visa in time, added the university.
