A 23-year-old Indian student at Boston University was found dead on the campus. Paruchuri Abhijit was the only son of his parents.

In a tragic incident and the 9th such death of Indians in the USA, Paruchuri Abhijit was found dead in his car which was found in a forest. He was a student at Boston University and hailed from Burripalem of district Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.

He was reportedly the only son of his parents - Paruchuri Chakradhar and Srilakshmi. The murder on the Boston University campus has raised many suspicions. It is expected that he was killed for money and his laptop. Some reports suggest that it could be due to the quarrel in the university with other students.

As per the TOI report, he has a good in academics since his childhood. The mother had initially refused Paruchuri Abhijit's wish to study abroad, however, she agreed later. The mortal remains of the students were sent to his hometown after all formalities with the US were complete.

Paruchuri Abhijit joined Boston University last year only where he was living with some classmates in a rented house. As per his classmates and friends when he did not reach home after finishing classwork on March 11, 2024, the friends informed the police and lodged a missing complaint. Later the body was recovered by the police and an investigation is going on in the matter.

The series of deaths of Indian students in the USA has sparked anxiety in peers and parents. So far, there have been a total of 9 such deaths in the USA in 2024 only. All these students were under 25 years of age and died in an unnatural death, three were found dead after going missing, two died by suicide, one was beaten to death and two died of overdoses, as per the police, as reported by NBC News.

West Bengal’s Birbhum-based Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dancer Amarnath Ghosh died in the US on February 27, 2024. He was on an evening walk when reportedly attacked by a gun.

18-year-old Indian student Akul Dhawan was found dead after he was denied entry to a nightclub. He died on January 23, 2024.

Janhavi Kandula was killed during a harsh driving by the police officer Kevin Dave in Seattle who was reportedly driving at 74 mph (119 kph). Another 23-year-old Indian student, Sameer Kamath, was found dead in Warren County Indiana on February 5, 2024. He was studying at Purdue University. Shreyas Reddy, a student at the Linder School of Business, was also found dead in Cincinnati, Ohio. Vivek Saini and Neel Acharya were also found dead in the same week.







All these death cases have raised fear among the aspirants who look forward to studying in the USA and also to those parents who have already sent their children to study abroad in the US.
