Cambrian College is a public postsecondary institution of higher education in Northern Ontario. Cambrian College was founded in 1967 in Sudbury, Ontario. Dr. John T. Koski formerly principal of the Northern Ontario Institute of Technology was appointed as the first president of Cambrian College. In September 1967 classes were started on three campuses; North Bay, Sault Ste, and Sudbury campus.

A: 

Yes, Cambrian College accept Duolingo scores for Diploma, Certificate and Grad Certificate courses. Minimum Duolingo score required for Diploma & Certificate courses is 105-115. Whereas, for Graduate Certificate courses, the minimum score required in Duolingo is 120+. Other tests are also accepted such as TOEFL / PTE / IELTS.

Q:   Does Cambrian College provide a work permit?
A: 

The co-op work permit will list the employer as Cambrian College and will allow you to work for any authorized co-op work term authorized by your programme of study. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada have announced the temporary lifting of the 20-hour-per-week cap on the number of hours that eligible post-secondary students are allowed to work off campus while classes are in session. However, International students who have off-campus work authorization on their study permit will not be restricted by the 20-hour-per-week rule.

Q:   Does Cambrian College offer co-op work permit?
A: 

If the work (co-op or internship or placement) is a crucial part of students’ study program, then it is required to have a co-op work permit before starting the work. The co-op permit will list the employer as Cambrian College and will allow students to work for any authorized co-op work term authorized by the study program. The co-op education integrates on-the-job work experience with on-campus study. General, cop-ops are for 4 months. A few programs have mandatory co-ops whereas, some have optional.

Q:   How many hours can I work off-campus while studying at Cambrian College?
A: 

IRCC has announced that international students are studying in Canada and have off-campus work eligibility are not restricted by 20-hour-per-week rule. Earlier, there was cap on the number of working hours. This rule is now not restricted to just 20 hours. They can now work for 24 hours per week.  A few of the part-time jobs in Canada that students can take up are Sales Associate, Translator, Writer, Teacher, Freelancer, etc.

Cambrian College has three campuses located in Sudbury, Espanola, and Little Current / Manitoulin Island. Cambrian’s Residence consists of houses that can provide lodging to 677 students. The college campus has two kinds of houses: The Townhouse which can contain 300 students, and the Dorm style which can house 377 students. There are Resident advisors in the dorms to guide them through the rules and regulations of living in the residence. The costs for the two residences vary. The Dorm style has a total fee of $3,572.50 (Winter), $2,200 (Summer), and an academic price of $7,398. Townhouse style has total fees of $3,327.50 (Winter, ), $3,422 (Fall), and an academic price of $6,804.

The student can apply for the residence online and a non-refundable fee of $100 has to be paid with the application. The acceptance is on a first-come-first-served basis.

All Cambrian College applications are done through ontariocolleges.ca. International students should be aware of the key dates and apply accordingly. The admission dates are set by OCAS, not Cambrian College. Cambrian Colleges' entrance deadlines are as follows:
