Average coursework but a good university.
Tips: Just be clear what you were going to do. Due to the bad job market and other issues, try to have a backup plan just in case. Nothing much. Don't panic or stress and focus on studies but if you're going to focus on chip design like me, then don't choose this university. It's so bad for it. Apart from that, I guess all other department is fine but still cross verify with other students as well.
Likes (Part time work): It's easier to get a part time job because the number of international students is quite less so it's much easier to get a part time job within the campus itself. Part time are manageable coz it's 20 hours per week. Here since it comes under any state per hour, 16.5 that's the base pay.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I say maybe 20-30% chance because it's very difficult right now to get a permanent settlement here due to various reasons like the total international student count has increased drastically and less jobs and so on.
I would like to be since my area of domain is the semiconductor industry which is good only in the US.

There's a huge emphasis on class participation, practical assignments, and direct communication.
Tips: Before joining students from India should know that the academic culture is very different. Here there's a huge emphasis on class participation, practical assignments and direct communication with professors, which isn't always common back home. Also be prepared for the weather; moving from the heat of Bareilly to the snowy winters of the Northeast US is a major change, so invest in good winter clothing. My transition has been a journey of growth. The university has a strong support system for international students, which helped me settle in. The biggest cultural shift was the sense of independence and the fast paced structured lifestyle. People are very punctual and you are expected to manage your time from academics to chores, all by yourself. It was challenging at first but it has made me much more self-reliant. I was fortunate to receive the 'Dean's Merit Scholarship' based on my academic performance in high school and my application profile. It wasn't something I applied for separately; it was automatically awarded with my admission offer.
Likes (Indian Food): I was genuinely surprised by the amazing availability of authentic Indian food for a city of this size. There are several dedicated Indian grocery stores where I can find all the spices, lentils and fresh produce like okra and paneer which makes cooking food from home really easy. The locality has a great mix of restaurants. You can find several Indian places, both North and South Indian cuisine, along with Italian, Vietnamese, Mexican, and classic American diners. A meal at a casual, mid-range restaurant typically costs between 15 and 25. Personally, I prefer cooking for myself on most weekdays to save money and eat healthily. But on weekends, I love exploring the local restaurants with my friends. It's the perfect balance.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The university provides excellent support the US immigration system itself is complex and competitive. Binghamton's Fleishman Career Centre and the ISSS International Student and Scholar Services office are fantastic; they offer workshops on CPT/OPT and connect us with employers who have a history of sponsoring international students. Honestly my chances for permanent settlement are decent but certainly not guaranteed. As a STEM major the 3 year OPT extension is a significant advantage. However it ultimately depends on securing a job with a company willing to sponsor an H-1B visa and then winning the visa lottery. Given the chance I would definitely consider permanent immigration. The professional opportunities and global exposure here are incredible and building a career in my field would be a great outcome of my education.

Binghamton University is worth for the money for Master's in CS.
Tips: Before joining, students should know that the weather in Binghamton can be very cold and snowy during the winter months. The coursework is competitive, but the professors are understanding and will work with you to ensure that you have enough time to complete your assignments. For computer science, the courses are valuable and worth the money. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Safety): Binghamton University is in a college town, so you'll mostly see students there. The university provides frequent college buses and public transportation, so you don't have to rely on cabs or other forms of transportation. Compared to city-based colleges, I would say Binghamton is quite safe.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Immigration is a major issue in the United States right now and the government is trying to control it. It's very difficult to find a job in the United States that will sponsor your visa. In fact, most companies will only sponsor employees who already have a green card. This means that if you're an immigrant looking for a job in the United States you'll need to have a green card before you can even start applying for jobs.

Peaceful University to study
Tips: International students should apply for on-campus part-time jobs well before joining this university (considering, the student has finalized his/her admission to the university). Since the university lies in upstate New York, they should consider carrying winter clothes.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is free for University students. Transportation includes both University buses as well as county buses. Public transportation is available on both weekends and weekdays where students can commute to grocery stores such as Walmart, Target, etc.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Only 2 Indian restaurants are available, which are 3+ miles away from student housing. Most international students do not own a vehicle to commute. Therefore, it is tedious to travel to such long destinations for Indian restaurants and public transportation would not be available after a dedicated time.

Good university to learn and grow with multiple opportunities.
Tips: One should have good coding knowledge to join this as a CS student.
If you excel in your first semester you will get a teaching assistantship and that semester's full fee will be waived off as a scholarship.
If you have a good command of coding you will learn a lot at the university.
Likes (Part time work): There are various campus part time jobs available in the university, one can easily get part time.
And the the expenses are less when compared to other states. One can easily manage their expenses if they get part-time in the university and a student is not supposed to work off-campus

The university is good in terms of education and amenities they offer.
Tips: Initially, it was a bit of an adjustment, especially the independence, time management, and informal classroom culture. Instructors encourage discussions, critical thinking, and questioning, which is quite different from rote-based learning in India. Social interactions are more individualistic, and it takes effort to build connections. The college has a lot of tie-ups. Students should know that Binghamton is academically rigorous with a strong research focus, especially in computer science, engineering, and business. Professors are approachable but expect consistent effort. The weather can be cold for much of the year, so be prepared for winter. It's a quiet, suburban campus—ideal for focused study. Career services are active, but you must be proactive in seeking internships and networking. But overall, it has helped me become more self-reliant and confident.

Lovely place to study.
Tips: The best thing about this university is how accepting and welcoming the environment is and students often go out of their way to make you feel included. The faculty and the fact that they are happy to help out whenever needed. Explore the campus when you get here as the architecture is beautiful and you will get an idea about where your classes are located.

School of fun & opportunities
Tips: There are so many hidden opportunities like scholarships, job opportunities, fun gigs. Be open to opportunities and don't hesitate to speak to anyone. You don't know where you find the gold. Do not just sit in the heads of Indian students. Make at least two or three American friends and learn about their work styles and methods.
Likes (Part time work): SDSU has a lot of options for part time jobs. You just have to be proactive. There are ample opportunities in student dorms, dining, TA & RA, and Lab Assistant opportunities. Also, there are many clubs and cultural centres that hire Undergraduate and Graduate Student Assistants. So make sure you follow their Instagram pages for lot many opportunities.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent settlement in US is very difficult if you follow the track of doing Masters and then availing work permit. It depends on factors if your employer sponsors the position then if your H1B is picked. USCIS has been very strict in recent years considering the immigration norms. US is any time place with lots of money and opportunities. However India is still growing at a rapid pace. So if you are earning more than 20LPA in India with an experience of less than 3 years. I would suggest considering growth opportunities in India!

Research well before joining.
Tips: I would say that as a student one should research on the coursework and the department. Thesis requirements, number of credits, course fees and living expenses. The taxes after getting a job are quite high compared to other states in California. All these said San Diego is a beautiful city and I don't intend to leave this city anytime soon.

University where you could have fun while studying.
Tips: It is like every other American university. The fees here are less compared to other universities. It is very tough to get scholarships for your fees, but there are a ton of part-time opportunities at the university. Additionally, the weather here is beautiful so you do not have to worry about snow and harsh weather conditions. Plus, the university graduate association is very active, they will take you out for free to some tourist attractions in San Diego like the beach, zoo, sea world, etc.
Likes (Part time work): There are a lot of part time options here in the university. You can work as a TA, RA with your professors in your department. Apart from that, you could also work on campus with many restaurants and cafeterias. Also, the university has a stadium where all kinds of events happen and many students are employed there as well.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It seems like a very long process, with first on F1 visa as a student, then OPT, then H1B and then PR. From what I have heard from the seniors, they have been in the US for like eight to ten years and they are still on some kind of work visa. But, life here is pretty good in San Diego.

Wonderfull Life at San Diego State University
Tips: Everyone should research properly for the course curriculum of this university and find out proper accommodations off campus. This university provides each and every information that is required by students, so that they can figure out the best course for themselves.
Likes (Public transportation): SDSU is famous for weekend parties. Everyone enjoys studying, working and parting on campus. The campus has movie night on every Mondays, where we can connect with other fellow students and learn from their experiences. The students here are polite enough to guide other students.
Dislikes (Internships): Faculties help every student to understand each and every concept. San Diego State University has a variety of professors that teaches even after provided class time. They help us in every possible way, be it with assignments, coding lectures and even self doubt classes for upcoming exams.
