Admission is provided with any score as long as the candidate has a GPA of 3.0 or more; nevertheless, all first-time students are encouraged to submit their SAT or ACT results. A 2.0 GPA is the minimal requirement for admission.  Graduates must demonstrate an acceptable post-baccalaureate degree obtained from a regionally accredited institution, or have achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 in an acceptable earned baccalaureate degree, or a grade point average of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester units (90 quarter units) attempted.

For international students enrolled in the Master of Science in Computer Science degree at California State University East Bay, the GRE is not required. The following requirements must be fulfilled in order for applicants to be accepted into the California State University, East Bay MS program:

• Hold an undergraduate degree in computer Science or a similar discipline. 
• Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent on other scales. Applicants with scores between 3.0 and 2.75 might also be admitted.
