Master of Computer Science - Batch of 2027

Good for growth and learning.
Tips: My experience in Texas state so far has been pretty positive here with good professors and peers. The faculty is truly knowledgeable in their fields and classrooms often have a lot of industrial knowledge included. The administrative systems are sometimes long drawn and can feel like you're stuck in a loop, especially when it comes to stuff like course registration. The location is ideal as well.

Something here for everyone.
Tips: I did experience several cultural shocks, but at small scales and nothing too out of the ordinary. People are friendly and open, which made things a bit reassuring. Classes are research intensive, but they could be conducted in a better format honestly. Scholarships are given out mostly on a merit basis, and it is helpful in easing the financial burden of the cost of tuition here. There are frequent career fairs and you shouldn't hesitate to check them out.

Some faculty is truly exceptional.
Tips: Location and cost of tuition are both on the higher side so make sure you have thought it through and explore your options as well. Very busy campus, and professors are helpful for job prospects and networking opportunities if you connect with them. Can be better in terms of safety.
Dislikes (Part time work): Limited opportunities for part time both on and off campus. On campus, you'll have better chances if you look at some of the less sought after options and if you're able to adjust it in your schedule while managing your workload as well. There are teaching and research assistantships as well.

Good place and good city.
Tips: Cultural differences are almost everywhere, but it is a part of the process and as long as you're observant and respectful of people's time and space, you'll be fine. The quality of education is good but somehow the cost of tuition is unjustified. You'll get good access to internships and events and if you take advantage of it, it can really help you out. The student body is supportive and there is a help centre for any extra assistance you might need.

Tips: Every student here has had their own journey and goal and this reflects on the school's population. Very diverse and inclusive campus with great connectivity because of its location. Tuition is quite expensive, so it makes more sense to come here with some kind of funding else there are better options in terms of ranking and tuition.

Tips: I have grown a lot as a person after coming here and my experiences with people have helped in shaping me. CSU has an accepting and diverse culture, so you won't feel too left out. It's located downtown, which is one of the most promising areas for industrial and networking potential. It will suit you if you prefer living and working in a more independent format. Learn to cut costs and try to find a guarantee if you're planning on renting a place, as this will help save extra charges.

Very versatile university.
Tips: For me, the environment was new but not familiar, as I had spent most of my educational journey away from my hometown, so settling in wasn't particularly difficult. In an environment such as this, you have to be more proactive with both social groups and in the classrooms. Job opportunities are limited and you'll need at least a Master's to stand a chance. Rent depends on location and where the campus is can be a bit more expensive than the rest, but there are a lot of computers.

A supportive, diverse and enriching academic experience.
Tips: Transitioning here was a smooth process, although there was a cultural adjustment initially in terms of adapting to diverse perspectives and independent learning. However, I easily made some good local friends who helped me adapt to things here.
Likes (Post study jobs): College life is vibrant and well-balanced, offering ample opportunities for learning, socialising, and personal growth daily. Regular cultural, technical, and sports events are organised, and I enjoy participating in them as they boost my confidence and teamwork skills. The presence of active student clubs makes the environment more engaging.
Dislikes (Value for money): The faculty in my department are highly approachable and always willing to clarify doubts, both inside and outside of class. Tips: Before joining, students should research programs, campus resources, and opportunities for involvement. Transitioning here involved adapting to a diverse culture and urban setting. Likes (Student Life): The university offers a diverse student life with engaging events and clubs. Its urban campus fosters academic growth and vibrant community connections. There are varieties of student clubs that include almost every available field. The college is situated in the downtown is a main advantage

Not a great university in my experience.
Tips: This university is not cheap as it looks. The course curriculum is not updated as per the market need. You will have more people from the south side and it feels like you are studying at some university in Hyderabad. Not a good experience overall I feel. Faculty is also not good in their field and they are also not interested in spreading the knowledge they have
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is good. Have good connectivity. You will have RTA college sticker on your college ID which you can use to have free ride across Cleveland. RTA buses are really great and they have better connectivity. Ohio especially Cleveland have better public transport.
Dislikes (Safety): Area wise not good. Many crimes are reported each and every day. You can look on the internet about the area. It is a criminal city and it's in the top 25 world crime cities. Not safe at night. Many homeless people are roaming around and asking for a dollar.

Stringent with teachers and academic policies.
Tips: Computer Science is a bit tough class for students who do not belongs to CS in their bachelor's class. Do not expect this to be fun loving university. Academic policies are exasperating and you'll spend every week studying and studying only. Plagiarism is a real heat so do not cheat.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is free and is good. You can roam around the city with your student bus pass, the bus pass is provided by the university itself and you could use it to go anywhere i.e part-time or college. It cost 40$ a month and is included in your tuition fees. The majority of Indian students use this bus pass for going to university every day.
Dislikes (Student Life): From student's perspective the quality of academic life is degrading day by day because of some stringent teachers of Computer Science. There is free public transport, so it's a good thing. This is not so expensive city, with rent and food compared to other cities in the US. A large number of Indian population is here.

Good college but financially little costly for money spent here
Tips: I was acclimated to the US culture because I had friends studying here already. You can attain scholarships if you maintain a good gpa in the first semester of around 3500$ per semester and it would go up to 6000$ per semester. If someone gets an assistantship they could get up to 10000$ scholarship.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is right in the middle of downtown. The college has a railway station within 10 min walk and has bus stops next to every building. The campus has a security escort service at night if there is an emergency and is required to travel in the night when buses or trains are not available.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time jobs on campus are very deficit. The average payout is around 10$/hr. Jobs are usually available on handshake to apply and aramark website to apply. The usual working hours are around 20 hrs per week and the weekly payout is 800$/week. The jobs are usually hard to get due to low availability.

Georgia Tech for an international freshman is the best if you can balance work and fun.
Tips: For international students from South Asian countries, getting used to doing one's own chores might be challenging but everyone eventually gets accustomed to it. Scholarships are not available to international students as it is a public university. Overall, I love Georgia Teach. I think if one can balance their work and social life, the experience is very lucrative and par every top-tier college in the US.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is great at Georgia Teach: there are many academic and social clubs one can join. Academically oriented clubs are great opportunities for networking while social clubs enable one to meet people with similar interests. Greek life is also a major part of the Georgia Tech experience for many!
Dislikes (Safety): The campus itself is safe: Georgia Tech is a safe bubble. Downtown Atlanta is considered unsafe. As a rule of thumb, it is best not to stay outside beyond 3 AM. You can just sign up for anything and they teach you about it from scratch. You get to take part in several competitions.
Dislikes (Safety): We have GTPD and they are always available on call. They do prioritize the safety of the students. This was not on campus but there was a random guy who came up to me and asked me for money. It was definitely scary. There are a lot of homeless people in the area where I live.

Great Tech school with amazing grad program!
Tips: Graduate programs at Georgia tech are well-reputed and provide students with abundant knowledge and exposure. Limitless opportunities are available both during and after graduation from school. Some useful tips while prepping for graduation school: - Reach out to your department and apply for teaching assistantships once you receive the admit. - Email professors and graduation students in the lab (information available on university web page) regarding research assistantships.
Likes (Post study jobs): Even in the field of Aerospace engineering, there are multiple companies that sponsor work visas. As I stayed on for a Ph.D. my knowledge in this domain is limited. From my experience in the lab, industry and national labs are always on the lookout for talented graduation students.
Dislikes (Safety): Multiple safety issues have occurred in the city, but the campus is relatively safe. Housing options close to the campus are recommended. Amazing and best University for cybersecurity in USA
Tips: Georgia tech being the top ranked university has rigorous course so students coming to Georgia tech should be ready to do hard work. University is situated in Atlanta city which is diverse so students should be ready to adopt themself in that environment. Personally, I haven't experienced many transitions after coming to Georgia tech. Initially, I faced difficulty in following my culture but later everything came to place. I didn't avail of any scholarship. I am fully satisfied with my university, their course and their way of teaching are very good and of course, the country is beautiful and the best place to settle.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty members are easily approachable and accessible and they are often willing to guide students after the class. Many faculty members host drop-in office hours where students can discuss their assignments and other stuff. Teaching methodologies that I find unique and interesting are project-based learning, learning through classroom discussions, and lastly learning through case studies. Diversity can be found in teaching faculty in terms of nationality. Faculty members are from South Korea, France, Germany, Taiwan and so on.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): If I had to settle permanently in this country then chances of me setting is around 80-90% because it is the best place for my career growth, has good and healthy environment and most important every tech giant company like Google, Microsoft and so on is now opening offices in Atlanta. So would consider setting in the country.

The management is excellent. The competition is very high for internships.
Tips: Before joining the college, one must be prepared to be independent, hardworking, and able to focus very well. Students must know how to reduce their aggression and keep their minds on their goals. They also need to have their own things and be prepared for the nice facilities the college offers. We might get the internship. The competition is very high. Most of my friends got the internship. But once you get it, it will be highly valuable. Even the college tries hard to give you an internship. If you work somewhat hard, then you will get a good internship at a top company.
Likes (Safety): The management of the campus, or the college, whatever you want to call it, takes care of everything that goes on inside the college. They are really good at maintaining security. No one is allowed to bring weapons in. And if we have any complaints, the management responds very well.

Georgia Institute of Technology is a good, but it's the faculty that makes it highly sought after.
Tips: Before joining, do some research to get a clear picture of what's what. You need to know about the quality of the programs they offer and how relevant they are to your career goals. You should also check out the qualifications and experience of the professors in your field. Make sure the college is recognised by the right academic or professional bodies. Check out the classrooms, libraries, labs, and other facilities to SEE if they are up to date. If you're living on campus, you should check out the living arrangements. You should also look into the companies that visit for recruitment and the average salaries they offer. You should also check if the college has tie-ups for internships and practical training. Compare tuition and other feels with similar institutions. Find out about scholarships and the application process. Check out the extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations that are available. Look into the cultural and academic diversity of the students and staff. Consider the city or town's climate, safety, and connectivity. Make sure you have convenient access to the campus and surrounding amenities.

Overall, good experience. Rough weather to get accustomed today.
Tips: You will be in a very academically oriented environment where it is very competitive owing primarily to relatively grading. The weather remains hot throughout the day and if you are prone to allergies it is better that you plan accordingly. Altogether, it is a promising programme.
