About Lewis University
Lewis University was founded in 1932 as a USA-based private, co-educational university in Romeoville, Illinois. It is located 35 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. It is a comprehensive Catholic university. This university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Lewis University History
Lewis Uni was established in 1932 as the Holy Name Technical School for boys under the direction of the Chicago Archdiocese and Bishop Bernard J. Sheil. In 1952, the school was renamed the Lewis College of Science and Technology. Initially, the special emphasis on instruction was for Aviation Technology. In 1960, the De La Salle Christian Brothers assumed the direction of the institution. In 2005, this university started its first Doctoral program.
